Mulch
The use of mulch is critical for the health of any landscape. Depending on the application, we like to use either shredded cedar mulch or finely chipped wood chips (sometimes referred to as ‘Pathway mulch’) in our builds. Both retain moisture in the soil, keep weeds away, and insulate plants from the extreme hot and cold temperature swings that are typical in Colorado. However, each has distinct benefits: shredded cedar is better for exposed windy sites, where fine wood chips have a better potential for helping to build soil. Mulch is versatile, with applications in vegetable and ornamental type gardens, as well as around newly planted trees. There’s a lot to consider in choosing the right mulch, but we listen to your project needs and will select the right mulch for your job.
